1. I rang in 2015 relaxing with people I love in the state I met my best friends and graduated college, good ol’ Pennsylvania.
2. I flew back to Hong Kong with my sister and got to spend two weeks with her showing her my world. We ate too much, laughed a ton and got to bond like we hadn’t in way too long.
3. Disneyland Hong Kong! Finally went and it was great. So much smaller than Disney World in Florida, but it was a lot of fun (of course I was with my sister, so it was fun)
4. Did the Peak the tourist way (Peak Tram up, etc.). Apparently it’s the one place you have to go in Hong Kong, and I had only been at midnight and we drove up, so I cheated. But I went back with my sister and we had a perfect clear day.
4. Finally learned my address in cantonese. Thank goodness! The cabbies don’t even turn around and look at me funny now! I consider that a WIN.
6. Um, don’t know how I didn’t put this first, but Kennedy Town MTR (metro) opened!!!! God’s gift to Kennedy Town. Life-changing. That is all. I can finally access the rest of HK without a bus/taxi/minibus. Phew.
7. I didn’t think I’d ever do it, but I stopped being vegetarian (well, pescetarian). Which means…I have been thoroughly enjoying trying all the food Hong Kong has to offer, and man does it have A LOT. mmmmm
8. I fell back in love with Hong Kong. Before Christmas I was worried that I would never have that buzzing high again I felt when I first arrived here. But it’s back, and I know that every day isn’t going to be smooth sailing, but this city really is magical and I’m so glad I remembered.
9. Both of my best friends had a birthday (Hiiii Kat & Jen!). I wasn’t there for them and that won’t get easier, but they are such a blessing to me and they know I love them from here just as much as if I were there. xoxo
10. Mentioned this in the last post, but I worked the mission fair booth for ICM at my church and was reminded how powerful being a missionary is. I’m so honored to serve the amazing people in the Philippines, and how lucky I am do to it form such an amazing city like Hong Kong.
