Hello friends! I hope you have taken some time to check out www.caremin.com and learn about the awesome work ICM is doing. I am excited to join their staff in this journey to help the ultrapoor in the Philippines.
I have accepted a full time position as a Reporting Officer in the Hong Kong office. My job will be working with staff in the Manilla operations center and Hong Kong office to collect information from the staff working in ultrapoor communities served by our 10 bases to create reports for supporters of this ministry.
This is a great opportunity for me to share the love I have known from Jesus while learning from and working with people who combine love with wisdom; people who honor others in the way they share this love. I pray that we can follow Paul’s instructions to the Philippians to “do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3). I am excited to have the chance spend time with, learn from, support, and encourage the Filipino staff in the 10 bases that are serving in the ultrapoor communities every day.
While studying social work for the past 5 years, I learned many ways people with good intentions can harm people they are trying to help. I am very excited to get hands on experience helping others with an organization that is dedicated to evaluation and improvement to be sure resources are managed well and change in communities is sustainable.
By having some staff members raise support for their salaries, overhead costs are kept low so other money can be focused directly on programs and the Filipino staff of 450+ employees in the Manila operations office and the 10 island bases. It also gives you the opportunity to partner with us in the work we are doing. My position is self-funded, so I need supporters to partner with ICM to complete my salary of US$2000 a month for a two-year contract (a total of $48,000 ). ICM is a registered non-profit in the US, Hong Kong, the UK, Canada, and Australia so a tax receipt will be issued for all donations.
